Update

Woohoo!  My friend, Franco, who is awesome, hooked me up with the English school where he works.  I have 14 hours a week to start with.  Of course I will be making 15Q per hour, which is almost $2.  This, by the way, is why people come to the US illegally.  In case you were wondering.  Also I found out while talking to the boss-lady that another friend was going to try to hook me up with the same job.  I feel like such a popular gringa!

And... I kind of did underestimate the earthquake.  Apparently at least 48 (and up to 70+) people died.  So that's really tragic.  But everything in Xela is fine!
