Professor Wendell Logan was an incredibly gifted and influential musician, composer, and educator. He passed away early Tuesday evening at the Cleveland Clinic, and will truly be missed. Wendell created the Jazz Studies program at Oberlin, and was its department chair. I was extremely fortunate to have taken his class this past fall. I wish I had gotten to know him better. He was such an amazing man.
